This Red Tailed Hawk soars high above the desert in the updraft of a very warm spring afternoon looking to pounce from the sky.
The frenzied hunt and kill to support the next generation becomes a fierce battle for control of the sky above the desert.
The hawk is known as the bird of war, recognized by Native American traditions of warriors wearing the feathers into battle.
